VCS Heart Health

​February has been designated as Heart Health Month. Once again during the month of February, we will educate our students about a heart healthy lifestyle. In addition, all schools and district offices have been challenged by the superintendent to be active.
The challenge is simple: either 30,000 steps or 3 hours of exercise each week. To improve overall cardiovascular health, research suggests at least 150 minutes per week. 
The challenge is simple for all of us: move more! There are so many apps and wrist bands to help each of us track our activity level. Research shows that exercise reduces stress, mild depression and builds up our immunity. Plus, it is good for the heart. We are encouraging everyone to take the challenge! Share what you are doing using #vcshearthealth.
