Spruce Creek High Competes in Florida Envirothon

​Spruce Creek High's Envirothon team placed 9th overall at the Florida Envirothon state competition at Payne's Prairie Preseve in late April. The team finished first in aquatics, sixth in current issues, and sixth in oral presentation. The team is coached by Josh Platt, and features 7 students – Jasleen K., Seth J., Tom B., Grace L., Alejandra M., Eoghan H. and Connor M.
The Volusia County Envirothon was held at Spruce Creek Park in February, and Spruce Creek High was the winning team. The hands-on competition featured 15 teams and was facilitated by community volunteers who wrote and administered tests. Partners included Duke Foundation, FUTURES Foundation, Sam's Club/Wal-Mart Foundation, and the Volusia Soil and Water Board.
