VOLUSIA COUNTY SCHOOLS FEEDS THE COMMUNITY SATURDAY; TOGETHER WE CAN

Throughout Hurricane Irma, Volusia County Schools sheltered and fed more than 4,000 people three square meals. With school being cancelled for over a week, some families are struggling to provide food for their families.  To answer that need, several schools will open their doors Saturday morning to provide a complimentary breakfast and lunch.

From 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2,800 breakfasts will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies run out.  In addition, 2,800 take-home lunches will be provided.  The following school cafeterias will be open:

  • Campbell Middle, 625 South Keech Street, Daytona Beach, FL  32114
  • Chisholm Elementary, 557 Ronnoc Lane, New Smyrna Beach, FL  32168
  • Friendship Elementary, 2746 Fulford Street, Deltona, FL  32738
  • Southwestern Middle, 605 West New Hampshire Avenue, DeLand, FL  32720

Families from these and surrounding schools will be notified of the opportunity.  Together we can return our community to normalcy.
