Food for Florida - Disaster SNAP (D-SNAP)

‚ÄčThe Florida Department of Children and Families has coordinated this Food for Florida/Disaster SNAP site to serve Floridians in who live in Volusia County affected by Hurricane Irma to ensure they have the resources needed for healthy meals.
 
The site will be open in Volusia County from Wednesday, October 4, through Sunday October 8, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Volusia County Fairgrounds, 3150 East New York Avenue, DeLand. This is not for current SNAP recipients.
 
Important information that is needed to apply & determine eligibility for D-SNAP benefits:
  • Applicants must have lived or worked in one of the 48 declared counties on September 5
  • Suffered a disaster-related loss due to Hurricane Irma, such as:
    • Reduction or loss of income
    • Loss of food
    • Damage to homes or self-employment equipment
    • Other disaster-related expenses
  • Must have ID, income and asset information for all individuals in the household
  • D-SNAP will not be issues to anyone is currently receiving SNAP benefits.
 
Applicants are urged to apply online at the Food for Florida site, which will allow for faster processing: http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/programs/access/fff/
 
One EBT card per eligible household will be issued. Only the applicant needs to visit the local Food for Florida site in person. Non-applicants at Food for Florida sites will contribute to longer lines and waits for service.
