    Controlled Open Enrollment Program

    The variance application period for 2016/2017 has ended.  Please register your student at his or her zoned school.  Applications for 2017/2018 will be accepted from January 1, 2017 through June 1, 2017.

    About our School Variance Program
    Policy203_fromtheLegalWebpage.pdfSchool Board Policy 203 (Revised and Effective March 29, 2011)  provides parents with the opportunity to apply for a school other than their assigned-zoned school. 
    Variance applications are available at all Volusia County Schools and may be picked up during regular school hours.  Early application is encouraged.   
    1. Obtain variance application from any Volusia County School.
    2. Complete the variance application and have it signed by the principal/designee of the zoned school.
    3. Have the requested school principal/designee sign the application.
    4. The requested school will forward the application to the Student Assignment Office.
    5. The Student Assignment Office will process and make decisions on all variance applications.
    6. Parents will be notified by US Mail of the decision; generally toward the end of May.
