    ​​N​ew School Start Times for 2019 - 2020 School Year

    ​The Volusia County School board voted to change school start times for next year. 


    • Elementary will be 7:50 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.,
    • Middle will be 9:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.,
    • High School will be 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
       
    These times will be effective in August 2019, for the start of the 2019-20 school year.



    FSA and EOC Testing Schedule

    Please click on Testing Schedule​ to view the upcoming FSA and EOC testing ​dates for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  It is important that o​n testing days students should arrive on time and be well rested.  Just a reminder that no electronic devices are permitted in classrooms during testing.  All backpacks and electronics should be placed in lockers before arriving at homeroom for testing.​​

    Universal Orlando's Gradventure

    DeLand Middle School is proud to announce the 8th grade Gradventure Trip to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure on Friday, May 17 from 3:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.  Gradventure is a celebration of all of the accomplishments of our 8th grade students.  The cost is $115 and includes two parks, dinner, t-shirt and transportation.  Permission forms and full payments are due by April 18 to Ms. Chestnutt,​ Ms. Brewington (before school in the cafeteria) or Ms. Owens (in the AG building).  


    ​​Public Notice of DeLand Middle School SAC Meeting Dates

    The School Advisory Council (SAC) meets each month with the Principal and SAC Chair.  All parents and community members are invited to attend our meetings at 6 p.m. in the media center on the dates listed below. If you are interested in becoming a member of our SAC this school year, please contact  Michele M.     Attendance at SAC meetings is extremely important.

    • Are you interested in what goes on at school?
    • Are you one of our many working parents who cannot be at school during the day to help or volunteer?
    • Are you willing to commit to attending eight meetings during the school year for approximately 1 hour.

    If you answered yes to the above questions, then you are just the person we are looking for to serve on DeLand Middle's School Advisory Council.  We hope to see you there!
