We are pleased to announce that Deltona High School has been approved for an exciting opportunity for our incoming freshman.
This upcoming school year, DHS will pilot our very own 9th Grade Transition Program to help the freshman face transitioning from middle to high school and to develop a solution to help make this change easier on our incoming 9th graders. The goal of the program is to implement a required academic preparation transition day that will offer 9th grade students a solid foundation as they matriculate to high school.
On Monday, August 24, 2015 only Deltona High School first year freshman students will attend school. All other grade levels will report for classes on Tuesday, August 25th, 2015. This is a valuable opportunity for our freshman students to learn about our campus, academic programs and requirements, policies and procedures, and participate in a campus wide effort to increase academic performance.
Freshman students will have an opportunity to purchase their student ID’s and lockers and should bring $5 for the mandatory ID’s and $10 for the optional but recommended lockers.
Throughout the day students will receive their class schedules, meet with their teachers, attend an extracurricular activity showcase, and learn best practices to being successful in high school.
Buses and lunches will function as a normal school day. This is a required school day and all freshmen are expected to be in attendance.
