Currently, the School Board of Volusia County has in place the requirement for each student-athlete to pay $75 to participate in any sport. Should the student-athlete participate in a second sport, the fee will be an additional $25.
The plan is designed to help cover the expenses associated with operating each sport. The "pay-to-participate" fund does not guarantee playing time; however, it does qualify each student-athlete an opportunity to be a member of the team. The fund is used for transportation costs and payment of officials. Forms will be made available for completion once the individual goes through tryouts and qualifies as a team member.
