Volusia Schools Adds Schools to Free Meal Program Through December 18
DELAND – Volusia Schools has been granted permission from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Food and Wellness Division to add the following schools to the meal program that allows all children under 18 in schools and the community to eat for free. Starting Monday, September 21, all students attending in-person classes at Ivy Hawn Charter School, Richard Milburn Academy West, Richard Milburn Academy East, and AMI Kids will not be charged for meals.
For students not attending in-person classes, schools are still open for curbside meal service for all children 18 years and younger. Families may pick up meals each Tuesday from 6:30 a.m.-7 a.m. and the program will operate through December 18.
Meals provided through the curbside service are free and are bundled with five breakfasts and five lunches. Registration is required by Thursday of the previous week. Register for meals using this form: https://forms.gle/vUWCh3GazNwN62966. Parents may register to pick up meals at any participating.
Parents must show their ID when picking up meals, as well as a form of ID for each student requesting meals. Current student ID cards or birth certificates are acceptable.
All schools are serving curbside meals, except for Manatee Cove Elementary, Timbercrest Elementary, and Turie T. Small Elementary. Families who normally attend these schools may register at any other participating school.

We are doing a staggered dismissal to allow for greater social distancing, and parents will have assigned times to arrive on campus. Parents may only enter campus via their vehicle in the loops and must remain in their vehicle on campus. No foot traffic is permitted on campus. Specific arrival times have been determined for each family. There will be no parking or waiting on campus ahead of your designated time. Please remain off campus until your designated time to enter the loop. If you arrive early, we will respectfully request you depart and return at the designated time.
The loops remain closed until 2:00 p.m. PK families enter at 2:05. Families assigned numbers between 1-199 may enter the loops at 2:10. Families assigned numbers between 200-599 may arrive to enter the loops at 2:20. Parking is reserved for PK parents assigned to the west loop. Parent awaiting safety patrols are assigned to park in the east loop lot after 2:20 and must remain in their vehicle. Safety patrols will then report to your car for departure upon completion of their duty. Families who walk may wait off campus beyond the east or west exit gates for your children who are designated as "Walkers" or "Bike Riders."
